Shockwave Movie Head Designby ~MitGas

A design for Shockwave for a possible sequel of 2007's Transformers by Michael Bay - It was my goal to combine G1 and the current look of the movie bots and hopefully please both fans of the old and fans of the new aesthetics.

A tutorial on how I did the dirt and scratches will be uploaded shortly. I hope you like it!

It looks "shockingly" just like yours. Maybe they have adopted it, like they did with Josh Nizzi's Long Haul? Can you divulge more information perhaps?

I've seen it, yes. I wouldn't really say that it looks too much like mine, as the face is overall longer (kinda like Animated's Shockwave - although my head was ment to become longer when he talks) and the "ears" are turned forwards.

But that Soundwave sketch is an absolute tragedy. Why oh why redesign him to the point where he's not even really recognizable? No visor, some weird mouth with teeth - I'm disappointed to say the least that this was chosen. then again IMO Bay made a few rather dubious choices - I wouldn't put it past him that if he were to adapt Master of the Universe he'd give Skeletor the head of a leopard. I hope this is just an old face design used as a stand-in.

YEah, Soundwave has mandibles now. Granted, he did have those in ROTF if I recall right. But overall, I am not fond of the Bayverse redesigns. Especially considering some of them have names slapped on characters that don't even remotely resemble the originals... Sideswipe looked like Tracks, Jolt looked like G1 Skids, but his name was given to a horrible little character instead. And Wheelie, well he was a WALL-E ripoff. Most likely Bay thought he wanted to include a WALL-E lookalike and looked up which name would be the most closest thing to it.
